How to Prepare Your Home for a Real Estate Photoshoot
Follow this guide to showcase your home at its best for potential buyers.
General Guidelines
-
Declutter: Remove personal items, such as family photos, toys, pet bowls/ beds, and excess decor.
-
Clean Thoroughly: Dust, vacuum, and wipe down all surfaces. Sparkling clean homes photograph better.
-
Maximize Lighting: Open all blinds and curtains, and turn on all lights (including lamps and under-cabinet lighting). Replace non-working light bulbs with matching color temperatures.
-
Repairs: Fix any visible damage, like holes in walls, broken fixtures, or chipped paint.
-
Garage interiors and secondary closets are generally not photographed. These make an ideal space for storing excess items for photoshoots and showings.
